Clint Eastwood has had an extraordinary career spanning seven decades. He’s known for his calm manner, as a guy of few words who prefers to remain to himself. However, his recent lengthy disappearance from the public eye has caused alarm among his pals.
According to reports, the actor may be thinking about retiring from Hollywood.
“Clint occasionally talks about retiring, but what’s more troubling for him is the feeling that the movie industry has moved on from him,” a source told me. “He’s had a 50-year partnership with Warner Bros., but there are new people in charge, and they were disappointed when Clint’s last film, ‘Cry Macho,’ failed to perform well at the box office.”
“While he was pleased to receive approval from Warner for his new film, he isn’t counting on it happening again.”
The 93-year-old actor is set to star in “Juror No. 2” with Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult, with filming due to begin this summer.
“He wants to make this movie his swan song and exit on a high note,” the person stated. “Some assumed ‘Cry Macho’ would be his final feature two years ago since he was fragile even then, but the film was not well received. So Clint is gathering the troops for one more push, aiming for a blockbuster.
“It’s quite a lot to take on for a man in his nineties,” the insider underlined. “People are truly concerned for his health. He’s the director, but he’s also engaged in everything else, including casting, and he’ll probably write the soundtrack, like he has in his previous films.”
Clint Eastwood hasn’t been seen in public for over 450 days, leading to worries about his health taking a turn for the worse.
“Despite his advanced age, Clint has always been in good health and active. However, his sudden departure from the public spotlight has caused anxiety among many in Hollywood,” the insider said. “It’s difficult to imagine him in anything other than fine form, but Father Time catches up with all of us.”
