At 78, Cher’s outfit sparks heated discussion

Cher drew attention at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York this week, where she arrived with her lover, Alexander “AE” Edwards.

Although their passionate entrance drew attention, Cher’s bold attire became the topic of the evening.

As usual, the internet had a lot to say about her outfit choices.
The 78-year-old icon wore a dramatic suit from The Attico’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which included a fishnet top under a black blazer, oversized, baggy leather pants, and statement belt.
Despite the outfit being daring and avant-garde, reactions were mixed online.

Some critics were quick to express their disappointment with comments like “mama what you wearing,” and “Ughhhh… yeah, not the look.”

Cher’s blonde haircut was also a topic of discussion, with one commenter commenting, “Whoever dressed her needs to get fired!! “How dare you!”

Nonetheless, Cher’s audacity won over many fans, who praised her brave approach to fashion.

Supporters praised her with comments such as “She looks insane 🔥” and “Cher is a true icon.” I really adore her.

One fan summed up the feeling, saying, “I’ll say it. Cher’s style is awful. But I live for every waking hour with this woman!” demonstrating her capacity to remain relevant and popular, regardless of the fashion risk.

Following her eye-catching entrance, Cher stunned the audience with a performance later that night, changing into sparkling large cargo trousers and a shimmering strapless top fastened with a leather corset.

The transition from blonde to her signature long black hair aided the shift, and her performances of favorites such as Strong Enough and Believe were a standout of the evening. Cher’s appearance on the Victoria’s Secret runway after a five-year absence gave the show a legendary touch.

In September, Victoria’s Secret confirmed Cher’s headlining performance, referring to her as a “icon,” “legend,” and the “mother of fashion.” The company wrote on its Instagram page: “It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher!”

Cher’s effect transcends time. In an August interview with CBS, she spoke honestly about her approach to fashion, saying, “I always just do what I want,” emphasizing that clothes mean little to her other than being “pretty.”
