Dad and twin sons cut enough firewood to fill 80 trucks – donate it all to those who need it most

Every now and then, you come across a deed or act that touches your heart.

You understand what I’m talking about. It might be a narrative in which someone goes above and above to facilitate a generous act of generosity, or it could just be someone doing something good without expecting anything in return.

Performing such a deed frequently results in the sensation of happiness bestowed onto one’s soul. That being said, it’s always good to honor folks who are truly working to make the world a better place.

Shane McDaniel and his twin kids Henry and Harrison come under the group of do-gooders. Shane, who grew up cutting firewood with his father, wanted his 21-year-old sons to join him in carrying on the practice.

The family, who live in Lake Stevens, Washington, had their job cut out for them in the aftermath of a severe storm.

Shane explained: “I had a lot of wood I had to cut because of storm damage and trees that were taken down. It just kept piling up and piling up. Once it got to be such an amount of wood we decided we could do something better with it.”

They put their minds together and came up with a method that would not only remove the wood but also benefit a large number of other individuals.

McDaniel told PEOPLE Magazine, “The Pacific Northwest is a pretty rugged area, it’s cold and wet. Once I started, I saw the need and my eyes were opened up. So many people were stopping and asking to buy it and we just started giving it away.”

Overall, the effort lasted from March to October 2018, and Shane, Henry, and Harrison cut enough firewood to fill 80 trucks.

Shane resorted to Facebook to plea for collection. They had way too much firewood.

Unsurprisingly, Shane’s post got a lot of attention. Most individuals were taken aback by the family’s kindness, and some even offered to assist distribute the firewood to those who couldn’t come get it.

Good feeling

“It’s a pretty wonderful thing to see. You can just see this feeling of pride and sharing that I don’t think they had before,” Shane said.

“When you do good things for people, they don’t forget. I love helping people.”
