Demi Moore Offers Health Update on Ex-Husband Bruce Willis Amid Dementia Battle: ‘He Is Stable’

Moore, 61, spoke candidly about Bruce, 69, at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival on Sunday, October 13, sharing her perspective on the Die Hard actor’s diagnosis, announced in February 2023 by Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis.

“The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,” Moore said at a festival event, per People, that honored Moore with the Career Achievement in Acting Award. “But for where he’s at, he is stable.”

Moore, who was married to Bruce from 1987 to 2000 and shares three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with him, expanded even further on her mindset.

During the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival, held on October 13, Demi Moore, 61, shared heartfelt insights about her exhusband Bruce Willis’s health condition. Willis, 69, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in February 2023 by his wife, Emma Heming Willis.

At the festival, where Moore was honored with the Career Achievement in Acting Award, she spoke candidly about Willis’s diagnosis. “The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,” Moore told the audience. She emphasized the importance of accepting the present moment and meeting loved ones where they are in their journey.

Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000 and shares three daughters—Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30—also mentioned that Willis is currently stabl. “But for where he’s at, he is stable,” she added. Moore highlighted the beauty and sweetness that can be found in accepting the current state of a loved one’s health.

Reflecting on her recent visit with Willis, Moore shared that she spent time with him and their granddaughter, Louetta, just two days prior to the festival. “What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at. When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game,” she said. “But when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”

Moore’s words offered comfort and reassurance to fans and colleagues alike, as the media world continues to follow Willis’s journey with FTD.
