The true significance behind Prince Harry’s name as revealed King Charles desired another for him

Did you realize that Prince Harry’s name isn’t really Harry?

While the Duke of Sussex is popularly referred to as ‘Prince Harry’, this is not his official name.

Yes, if you look at Harry’s passport or birth record, you will notice that his name is completely different.

While we can’t picture Harry with another name, his father, King Charles, desired a completely other name for his son.

Royal names are typically conventional, which could explain why Harry has a different’real’ name.

When Harry was born, his given name was Henry, which is a centuries-old royal name.

The Duke’s given name was Prince Henry Charles Albert David.

However, according to HELLO!, Henry was only used by Charles and Diana in particular settings, and Harry was mostly referred to as ‘Harry’ – though the Duke of Sussex’s autobiography, Spare, reveals that his brother Prince William also refers to him as ‘Harold’.

Harry’s middle name includes the pseudonym Albert, which is significant, especially since King Charles supposedly wished to use this as Harry’s first name.

Queen Victoria’s husbandwas named Albert. Apparently, while the late Queen and King Charles loved the name Albert, Princess Diana was less enthusiastic.

Harry has previously spoken about his name, stating that he has no idea why he is called Harry, as it is not one of his given names.

Speaking at the WellChild Awards, he said: “My name is Henry, but everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea.”

In the past, royal admirers have been baffled over Harry’s name, unaware that he is actually called Henry.

One wrote on X: “I just found out that Prince Harry’s real name is HENRY?!?!”

While another said: “We don’t talk enough about how prince harry’s real name is henry.”

And a third added: “You do realize Prince Harry’s actual name is Henry, right?”
Meghan Markle’s name, it turns out, is also slightly different than you may expect.

Yes, the Duchess of Sussex’s first name is Rachel, which also happens to be the name of her character on Suits.

Meghan said on The Racheal Ray Show before meeting Prince Harry: “Did you know my real name is Rachel? Were you aware of that?

Meghan was rumored to have been using her middle name for some time, however it is unclear why she did so.
